BUG LIST

- Gainesville roads seem inefficient and unnecessarily dangerous
- Why: Poorly qualified planners or limiting regulation on road placement
- My room is way hotter than my other roommates' rooms
- Poor housing design (incompatible to proper air flow), low quality air conditioner purchased by leasing company, unqualified AC workers put in improperly
- My window faces another house and I don't get much sunlight
- waited too long to choose housing location, poor housing design
- My fan makes a noise as it bangs from side to side
- low quality fan purchased by leasing company
- walmart optical resets inventory making me unable to use my warranty on my current glasses because they are no longer in the inventory
- poor management
- the gainesville water isn't great and requires filtering
- natural limitations
- knock off companies make it hard to find well-priced, real items
- while I enjoy the ability and the right to easily start a business, it opens the door to counterfeit businesses
- delivery is so expensive
- gas prices, taxes, and tips
- the leasing manager is our neighbor and she will instantly call on us if we try to throw a party
- poor research into potential issues of my housing choice
- my PlayStation can't connect to my secure wifi
- sony poorly developed playstation's wifi capabilities
- my shower rod that holds up my curtain hangs at a weird angle
- cheap parts, I haven't reported it to be fixed
- walmart customer service
- poor hiring qualifications, poor hiring management, poor promotion management
- I cant have my dog here in Gainesville
- my dog lives with my grandma and I could not take her away from her
- I cannot legally purchase alcohol
- lack of voter participation
- I don't feel comfortable in extremely large crowds
- not enough exposure as a kid
- Ive been never in the habit to read and every time I try I fall out of it
- I wasn't raised to read books, I played sports
- regret: this bugs me everyday

- The dishwasher doesn't dry
- they could easily add a drying aspect to our dishwasher but instead we have a low quality one
- I can't wash too many clothes at once

Difficulties: I found this somewhat difficult; however, I tend to take note of the inefficiencies in life.
I really enjoyed reading your bug list, because I feel like I can relate to it as well in some cases. (17) regret really caught my eyes, because I feel like I think about this often. There has been tons of times where I wish I did something or think about what if I did not do a certain act. My personal opinion on this is to not dwell on it too much, because obviously in most cases you cannot change what happened. Just try to move on and improve your life. (4) Seeing you fan issue automatically made me think of my situation because my fan does the same thing. It is ridiculous and keeps me up at night because I need to sleep in complete silence. Of course it is frustrating, but my tip would be just try to ignore it and sleep. I know it sounds dumb, but there really is not much else you can do unless you find a way to make the noise stop. I enjoyed reading your entire list, great post!

ReplyDeleteYou had some great bugs that definitely seem to be the result of bad planning or systematic issues. I am beginning to think that number 1 is an issue that is nationwide. Our roads in Charleston, SC are absolutely terrible and often cause damage to people's cars. I had number 12 on my list as well. I understand that they purposely established walmart to always be the lowest cost, paying, etc retail franchise in existence, but I feel that customer service has to be trained and considered for long term success. Who wants to have a company that everyone hates going to? I think that number 5 happens with a lot of companies to constantly be able to not have to honor warranties and to boost revenues.
In general I can definitely agree with many of your bugs Griffin! I feel like most of them are things which have no real short-term solution, so that we have to live with them and adopt to them. Because I am an international student from Germany and just arrived in Gainesville a couple of weeks ago, especially the poorly designed roads surprised me. Moreover, many of your problems are student related things and I think for example the laundry problem is one thing that naturally comes with growing up and being an adult.

ReplyDeleteHey Griffin, I also find the Gainesville roads rather dangerous. The Gainesville roads often have a lot of blind spots that can easily cause accidents. I, personally, have almost gotten into accidents multiple times because of these blind spots. It really is unfortunate that your apartment has so many issues. I would move out as soon as you can! It can be hard to find the right apartment, but just do some research and you will find it!
