One memory of entrepreneurship that I have is when my baseball team needed money to travel to an out of state tournament. A few of my friends and I decided to cook a bunch of deserts and have a bake sale. We advertised in the newspaper about where we were gonna be and when, and we sold out and made over 300$. Even though this wasn't enough to pay for the trip, we were just happy to have worked together and made money from hard work, but in our own way.
I want to learn the basic aspects of entrepreneurship from this class as well as garner information from our professor that I can apply to my own life. I have heard many good things about this professor, so I am eager to see what he can tell me about entrepreneurship that can possibly lead me in that direction.
Wow, I love hearing stories like this. I like the idea of how you and your friends came together and tried to make money for your tournament. It was unfortunate that you guys did not make enough money for the trip, but still the determination was amazing to see. In my opinion, I like seeing clubs coming together and raising money rather than being given money for trips. I think it's nice to see kids work for things they want to attend and fund trips for themselves. I think maybe in the future you guys could plan more accordingly and reach your money goal. Overall, it was still a great story to hear.
ReplyDeleteHey Griffin,
ReplyDeleteThat is certainly a classic story of entrepreneurship. You identified a problem, developed a possible solution, and executed a plan to try and correct the problem. While I wasn't raising for a sport, I found myself thrust into this field at a young age by having to go around my neighborhood to cut grass and wash cars for me to raise up the money to go with friends to theme parks or the movies. It sounds like you could certainly have the entrepreneurship trait in you!
Hey Griffin,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to hear that you have some sort of experience as an entrepreneur, no matter how small. Hard work always pays off and advertising your bake sale was a great idea! I am also trying to learn the basis of entrepreneurship so I can hopefully start my own business one day. I plan to work hard until I reach this goal.
